Dirty little brat, he is! When I was barely 10 he beat captain claw faster then me, in games like guildwars, rose, halo, and more he was supreme over me. ALLWAYS! Even with super smash brothers melee in 2002(?) he beat me with using the glorious Falco with PICACHU and KIRBY?

We started at the same time playing games at very young age. He is two years younger then me and we are near equal in most of them. Now he is coming for me with Warcraft too! One of the fastest learning players I've ever seen. What do you think? He is my brother...! Defenitely a great addition to our guild. Topped other full naxx equiped hunters back in Forsaken while he used crafted and heroic gear. If you look at his activity meter you will find him near or on the top. A true buttonbasher.

But the fool shall NOT pass me.. not this time

Good luck, spartan

PS: he forgot to mention that he is a moonwalk expert

While I'm not a hunter and don't really know the class, your remarks about having a "weird" build caught my attention.

A quick stroll on EJ showed theorycrafting of about 1000 DPS less in the "regular" BM build compared to MM and SV. Have you tried either build in a raid setting? Or maybe run your own build through a spreadsheet/simcraft?

Hi datalord,

I have got my build from a very good BM hunter that has left the server some time ago. But please trust me.. This build works very well. I had some comments about the talents being weird by people before, but in the end they noticed the build was excellent in damage.

Hi Shaze
Just a hunters perspective from the application if I may. If you look at this link http://elitistjerks.com/f74/t42519-best_possible_dps_shandaras_wotlk_spreadsheet/ you will see that your spec isnt that far away from the cookie cutter talents and your screenshot shows that you are doing a lot of damage compared to your DPS and I always feel that DPS is the wrong measure as a couple of high hits in a short fight skew the figures - damage is always a better comparison.

Your gear is U10 ready even without some of the better enchants and a proper helm.

One suggestion I would make is to try out the dual spec if you are so intent on using BM and see how it compares to SV and MM - I know where you are coming from in the pet stakes and that you get a lot of enjoyable game time by using an unusual pet and can roam the world looking for newer additions - but I made that leap a good while ago and never looked back.

So good luck with the application

Obviously, you need to play the spec that you enjoy the most. But if what Datalord says is correct (I'm not really familiar with raidbuilds for hunters either), you either need to make up somehow for that theoretical loss in dps from being BM, or you might get asked by the officers to use a higher-dps spec... after all, doing the most dps possible is why you are there in a raid, primarily.

Also, does anyone know if there is any preferred build for the first hunter in a guild, like you kinda have with DKs (1st DK in a raid preferably Unholy, for example)? I am asking, because normally the highest-attendance class member would have the build with the most raidbuffs/raid utility.

Hey,

The damage displayed on the recount damage meter is not right, so just ignore the information there. My dps is quite good in my opinion, and Runiq.. Thanks for the kind words.

I hope I can prove myself!

UPDATE: Iam now hit capped. Found sinisters revenge today which has boosted my hitrating.

Thanks for the application. I don’t doubt that you do great damage with your spec; but if you plug it into the spreadsheet (downloadable here ( http://elitistjerks.com/f74/t30710-wotlk_dps_spreadsheet/)), though, you’ll find it’s not as good as the optimal builds proposed in Trollnumone’s link. Maybe you just play better than those you outdps – but you could outdps them by more with an optimal spec! If spreadsheets and the collective wisdom of the EJ hunter community says BM is lower dps than Survival/MM, then it just is.

One thing to bear in mind also is that there are scaling issues here. Data referred to BM being 1000 dps behind – theorycrafting has come up with a new cookie-cutter BM build that has reduced that to more like 800 – but these figures all assume an absolutely BiS set; you can naturally expect the differential between optimal and sub-optimal builds to be much lower and less noticeable at your gear level – and if you aren’t used to playing the best build, you may ofc actually perform worse with it until you master it.

Anyway, as Sainte says, we’d expect you to be willing to try out different specs if we asked. I can tell you aren’t an avid theorycrafter (e.g. you single out 4/5 Frenzy as ‘weird’, when in fact it’s the standard BM allocation), and this isn’t necessarily a hanging offence, but are you willing to try out other builds if required?

@Sainte, the raid buffs provided by hunters are generally abundant in our raid.25, with the possible exception of Replenishment during our seeming sPriest drought. Hunters being able to swap specs can be useful in raid.10 tho – MM is another source of the 10% AP buff (Blood DK/Enh), BM the 3% damage buff (ret. paladin), Surv. (Replenishment).

Hi,

I've checked out the link from Trollnumone and changed my BM specc into an better BM specc from that website. I will try survival as my dualspecc in the near future. But for now I would like to keep BM as my main specc, and if my damage really doesn't improve through time and scaling I will eventually go for survival.

Hello,

A small update here, I want to let you know that im going on a holiday for 1 week(20-27). So I won't be able to respond would there be any news. Aswell I want to let you know that im going to try survival specc right now.

(edit)Another small update:

I've took an EJ survival build and I must admit that it works very well, im quite impressed about the damage and i've decided to take this fully as my new specc. I got control of it very fast and my damage really is improved.

After extended consideration, I'm afraid we decided not to offer you a trial with us. We wish you the best of luck for the future.
