Hello Zero Gravitas.
This is my application, hope you will have fun reading it, as I had writing it.

Character Info.

Playing Time.

I'm working from 6.00 to 14.00 mon to friday, so I'm mostly online from 16.00 to 00.00. On fridays i can be avaliable past 00.00, but Mon to thursday I'll have to leave at 00.00 otherwise it's almost impossible for me to get up at 5.30.

Wow & Guilds History.

I've been playing wow for almost 3½ years now. I started out with a warrior, where I joined Shadowmane Tribe, before they started as an active raidingguild. I was not raiding active back then, because I didn't have the time and energy. When most of the people joined PoC, I left SMT, and started pvp'ing.

After TBC hit, I spend most of my time leveling, and when I got to 70, I started pvp'ing again. After a while I deleted my warrior (omg what was I thinking :P) and took a break from wow. Then around the time BT was opened, I started playing again. I created my shaman, and levelled as fast as I could. When I finally hit 70, I speced Enhancement and joined Conundrum (a danish guild). We started out raiding Karazhan, but we never got to actually clearing it. Then around september 2008, I took a break again, because i wanted to try out Warhammer Online.

A month after Wotlk was releaced, I started playing on my shaman again. When I reached 80, I re-speced resto and started raiding.

Raiding Experince.

Vanilla Wow: Non I'm afraid, didn't have the time back then.
TBC: Only some of Karazhan, never got to try the other raids.
Wotlk: Naxx10&25 cleared, OS10&25 +0 dragons cleared, Ulduar10 7/14, Ulduar25 0/14.

Addons:
-Bartender, Actionbar replacement.
-Grid, Unitframe to keep track of raidmembers
-Omen, Threat meter (For when i DPS)
-Recount, keep track on healing/dps
-Deadly Boss mods, Boss encounters
-Quartz, Casterbar/buff tracking

I have set my keys, so when I press and hold shift or ctrl, I get an aditional bar, so that I'm avaliable to reach all the buttons I need. I have a gamepad, so that I won't have to use the mouse all the time, to click any abilities.

My Role.

Resto.
My role as a resto shaman, is basically to heal raidmembers. I'm used to ffa heal, so my Reptide, LH and CH is my basic heals. I keep my ES up on the tank or off tank. I use reptide as soon as it's off cd, so that Tidal Waves proc (reduceing casttime and adding additional +heal on HW&LH). I know that CH will also make Tidal Waves proc, but I like to keep my rotation around Reptide. I use HW mostly on tanks, but also when a dps or healer gains agro. Tidal Force is a life saver ! When it starts to get critical, my rotation there is; Rep, TF, HW, HW and CH or LH, depening on the location of the player. Then when Rep's cd is done I repeat the rotation without TF.
My major glyphs as Resto are:
Glyph of Chain Heal, cus I'm often chosen as raidhealer and cus an extra target is never a bad thing.
Glyph of Riptide, to gain extra hot.
Glyph of Water Mastery, to gain more MP5 with water shield.
My minor glyphs as Resto are:
Glyph of water shield, Glyph of Renewed Life and Glyph of Astral Recall

Elemental.
My role as an elemental shaman, is to get the mobs "electroburned"
My rotation is: FS, LHB, LHB, CL and LB. The reason why I don't start with FS, LB is to give the tank some time to gain agro. On boss fights I drop in EM after casting FS, half a min into the fight or so. I use TS early in the fight to get as many charges as possible during a fight.
My major glyphs as Elemental are:
Glyph of Lightning Bolt, to get the 4% extra dmg, as it's this ability i use the most.
Glyph of Lava, to gain most dmg with LB.
Glyph of Totem of Wrath, to get max Spell power during fights.
My minor glyphs as Elemental are:
Glyph of Thunderstome, Glyph of Renewed Life and Glyph of Astral Recall.

Enhancement.
I haven't really got that much experience with Enhancement, so I'm not going to talk about it as much. But I would most likely go with a rotation like; SS, FS or ESK (depending on mob/boss), LL and LHB or CL. Then pop FLS, and start all over again.

Shortenings used:
LH - Lesser Healing Wave
HW - Healing Wave
CH - Chain Heal
EH - Earth Shield
Rep - Reptide
TF - Tidal Force

FS - Flame Shock
LHB - Lightning Bolt
CL - Chain Lightning
LB - Lava Blast
EM - Elemental Marstery
TS - Thunderstome

SS - Stormstrike
ESK - Earth Shock
LL- Lava Lash
FLS - Feral Spirit

What you can expect of me, and me of you.

You can expect a well prepared resto shaman, focused on keeping his raid alive. A cosy and friendly soul, who is always smiling. Has gold for repairs, enchants, gems, ect. Has his consumables in his bags. Never whines about too many wipes or never getting any loot. One who takes his gaming seriously. A person who's happy to help others.
What I expect of you is a nice and friendly guild, which is willing to do anything for progress and still have a fun time.

Why Zero Gravitas?.

I've followed your progress on the sideline. Seen how you have improved, and it's only going forward. I know how solid raiders you are. You won't back down if there is an obstacle, instead you keep on pushing until you reach your goal. I know there are some harsh times, when things aren't going as planned, but you still manage to have a fun time. I would simply love to be a part of all that.

Who I am ?

Well, my name is Emil Unnerup, 21 year old. Live in Denmark, in Randers. I'm just finishing up my education as an Industrial Technician. I'll be done October 2nd this year. I live with my girlfriend, who's also playing wow (Cheers!). Besides playing wow, I spend my time watching movies. I love movies, friends and family, but who doesn't.

Well, that's about it. If there's any questions, feel free to ask me, here or ingame.

Best regards,

Maximillion

Hi Max.

Could you let us know how you are finding your nomal spells breaking down atm (eg massive CH spam or RT LHW CH mixed up).

Also it would be helpful to know your opinions of the up coming changes to our class both in terms of spell/talent changes and your opinions on the next tier of gear please.

Hey Maxi, nice to see you applying!

I've known Max for around 18 years now (yeah I know, how did he put up with me for so long!), and his a great guy, fast learner and and very good healer.

Hey Problemchild. I hope i understood your first question correctly.

Well, it depends on the other players location on the field. Fx if they are spread out, then CH would not be as effective , as I would only get to heal one target, if so, I use PT+LHW and on those who are standing close to each other I use CH. But if the raid stand closer together, I would use CH to get the full use out of it, also, it depends on the dmg given in the encounter. If there are massive aoe dmg, then CH+RT spamming, is the best choice, to get as much players healed as posible. I would use PT+LHW if a players hp is critical, and then spam CH.
I can't give an exact explanation or percentage, as it depends on the encounter and dmg taken.

As for the patch notes, that I have read, there are some things that I find both positiv and negativ, imo. First of all /cheer to blizzard for the customizable totem bar, I've waited a long time for that. It reduces the totem casting time in the start of an encounter, which is a benefit for all. Chain Heals jump distance has increased to 12,5 yards, which is a huge advantage, (fx against Kel'Thuzad, where players are to spred out 10 yards from each other) but it has decreased it's jump healing to 40%. It isn't that much of a reduction, just some more spell power and you'll never notice. Ancestral Healing, gives 10% reduction on physical dmg, instead of increased armor value, from what I understand. That'll have more effect on cloth user, but I'm not sure, if it's a benefit for tanks (massive armor users). Nature's Swiftness' cooldown has decreased to 2 min down from 3 min. That gives the chance of useing it more during a boss encounter, which is very nice.

With the new tier, as what I have seen, there is a fine balance between haste, mp5 and crit, which I find very usable. With the sockets, I could have used a red socket instead of the blue one on the helmet, but the blue one is not going to destroy my mood. Besides, it looks pretty good. The set bonus, is just fine, it buffs the 2 most used spells, for my concern.

I hope this answers your questions.

Hi Max,

Just wondering how come you have chosen Glyph of Lava instead of Glyph of Flame Shock?
Lava increases the SP gain for LvB by 10% but as it only surves around 20% of overall dps in a fight, the gain is far outweighted by FS not being swallowed up on a LvB cast.

I know this is your offspec just curious to know your reasoning.

Goodluck with the app.

Hey Draigon.

I'm well aware of that, but it's actually a fine question. For my concern, the reason why I don't use it, is because I've never really been doing that much dps'ing in raids or instances. I'm only used to be Elemental for dailys and farming ect. Here the mobs usually die quite fast, so I wouldn't say it makes that much of a difference. But I really like your point, and I will of course reconsider my elemental glyphs again, if I'll have to dps more on a regular basis.

Good enough reason for your choice as any. It makes a big difference in raid dps but if you are grinding the majority of the time, then going for heavy LvB is a good choice.
