Daylightz
17th May 09, 11:11 PM
Hello there PoC!
Prepare to be amazed and blown back by my application (if for nothing else then by my total lack of skill, gear and dignity!)
Character name:
Daylightz
Race and Class:
Blood elf Paladin (retribution specced with holy as dual spec)
Current server:
Runetotem (duh!)
Armory link:
Daylightz (http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Runetotem&n=Daylightz)
Playing times:
Due to some private reasons i have a lot of time on my hands and can generally be found online on just about every hour of the day (except when sleeping or eating :silenced: ) I will explain why i have so much time on my hand but these reasons are not suitable for a public board and i will only tell officers.
Previous guilds:
Oh boy, this is going to be a long one ^^
Well lets start at the beginning!
Black sun (alliance guild on Runetotem) (from release to march 2005)
I started in Black sun playing with a few fellow danes i had met during the open european beta. having no clue about the game and having some problems socially i had a stand out with some of the other officers and ended up leaving. In all honesty the break wasn't very clean
Vendetta/Consortium (alliance guild on Runetotem) (april 2005 to around march 2006)
This has to be my most controversial time in wow to date. I learned allot about the game and the paladin class from people like Kazan. But due to some personal problems that relates to why i'm not working (so if you want to know about this please ask but i will still only tell officers. It's kinda private) i ended up in bad standing with most of the guild and especially the officers. I was called allot of things and some of them was true and some was just trash. To that i can say: Yes i was a lootwhore around the end of my stay in Consortium. Yes i did display traits of a drama emo queen. But i would say i've learned allot and matured since then
Riddlebox (horde guild on Runetotem) (around august/september 2006 to early november 2006)
After having tried to quit the game over the summer i eventually returned and rerolled horde. Joining up with Riddlebox as a priest i ventured into Naxx 40 to peak inside. Having tried all other content in Consortium then Naxx was the only thing i never really saw in 40 man. I left Riddlebox as my mind itched for hardcore raiding and my heart longed for revenge over Consortium. After having sparked arguements about hardcore progress vs casual raiding i left without leaving a goodbye post. I felt the arguements i had started both in guild chat and on forums said it all.
Corruption (horde guild on Runetotem) (December 2006 to late april 2007)
When Croazil and a bunch of others from Riddlebox created the guild Corruption they asked me to join up and reroll paladin in TBC. I did that. Unfortunately our organization and recruitment was poorly planned and we failed. I gave up around 2 months prior to Corruptions final fall. I measure my battles fast and skip the ones i label as can't be won. And this in my eyes couldn't be won as we spent more recruits than we got in.
Reverence (horde guild on Runetotem) (October 2007 to around new years 2007)
I joined Reverence after being persuaded by a few friends. I had a great time in there and learned alot. I tried tanking as paladin and found that to be a somewhat limited success. I left Forsaken due to some personal issues with another player (ask if you want to know more, but i won't answer on public boards)
Forsaken (horde guild on Runetotem) (may 2008 to april 2009)
I joined Forsaken after being persuaded by friends (again) I made alot of friends here and had a great time. We had some issues with raiding though and reorganized around wotlk's release. After some successes in Naxx and the early content some problems arose with disagreements between officers where i was one. In the end i thought it best i left instead of sparking a huge drama which Forsaken didn't need. (i can tell you more but again not on public forums)
All these guilds are all of the guilds with purposes i've been in. I haven't mentioned the small guilds i've joined to avoid guild invite spam.
Reason for applying:
I have chosen to apply to Protectors of Chaos because i want to try more, want to raid in a serious raid enviroment and not having to worry about officers stuff. I want to try and be hardcore again. See if i have the stamina and mind for it. I also want to see if Ulduar has anything interesting to offer. And see if i can add anything to PoC's increasingly legendary raid force :)
Raid experience:
Pre tbc: Everything up to and including tries on C'thun (never downed him) I also had a few tries on instructor (and a kill i think) in naxx 40
Tbc: I was in corruption as we got first kills on everything up to and including Magtheridon. After that i've raided everything but Vashj, Kael, thas and Illidan and beyond in Tbc.
Wotlk: Killed everything of the opening content but never completed many achievements. Unfortunately this means i never tried things like Sarth with anything over +1 drake.
My role:
As a retribution paladin my role is to dps. To provide blessings and auras. And to help with healing or dps with judgments also. My gems and glyphs have been chosen to maximize my dps as much as possible. Favoring str gems due to talents and favoring judgments as main source of damage
As a holy paladin my role is to heal, provide blessings and auras. I can be very reliable single target healer (been that most of my raiding career) My glyphs and gems are set up around using holy light as main heal source with lots of crit equipment as a source of sustainability. My glyphs are set so i can either heal for big amounts or heal for longer period depending on the seal i use.
I do not have a screenshot of my UI but i use the standard blizzard UI. I will get any necersary addons if these are a requirement. I prefer to raid with aa few addons as possible relying instead on my skills and awareness.
I've never really read anything on paladins and more used the old trial and error as a method of learning how to do things. With my 4 years+ experience as paladin i have tried alot of different specs, rotations and roles. I'm a good tank, not exceptional but good. I'm a very good dps'er although abit more unstable than i am as tank. As a healer i am at my best when on top and focused. I can however also fall into the slack corner and fall way behind. Seen over a raid i'm always low on healing meters as i tend to fall behind during trash. I've never been very good at healing on trash.
When put under pressure i tend to rise with the dificulty perforning better and better the higher the pressure. This is especially true as holy as i have most experience as holy.
Personal info:
Hello there i'm a 28 year old bloke from Denmark. I vary from being reclusive and abit shy to being energetic and very social. I tend to be a hothead when things go against me and i feel cornered. I've played wow since the european open beta. My personal life is very private due to the circumstances that allows me to play (too) much. Beyond wow i like stategic games (especially the Total War series!) I can be very focused when i set a goal and do just about everything i can to complete it. Be it raiding instances to farming reps or getting back on track irl
