Good afternoon Protectors of Chaos. After reading you recruitment page and a brief talk with Bruticus in game I would like to apply for the mage spot in your guild. Below you can find all the information about my character and the player behind it.

Playing Times
Pretty much every day from around 19:00 - 0:00, on the weekends I am usually online a bit longer. I don’t have fixed days that I cannot come, however once every few weeks I have evening appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. I should be able to make 3-4 raids a week.
Previous Guilds
Back in the vanilla days I joined the friends guild called Clan Wulf, I was playing a feral druid back then and joined them around level 40. I have been a member of Clan Wulf for many years and raided MC, Onyxia and BWL in the raiding alliance called CROW (Clanf Wulf, Order of the Rose Croix and Reprisals Call).
Halfway into TBC the raiding alliance collapsed, a lot of players from Clan Wulf and Reprisals Call moved to Mediocre Prodigies. A new guild founded by Iznogoud and friends.
These are the only two guilds I have ever been in. So I am not a guild hopper, I like to play with a steady groups of players like the players which were in both guilds mentioned above.
Reasons for Applying
While waiting for Ulduar there was not much action in MP, many players took a break and some quit wow for good. I was hoping more players would come back to get raiding again in Ulduar. Unfortunately we only have managed to get a few 10man runs going.
I play this game for fun, fun for me means seeing and completing all content in game with a nice group of players and friends in 25man man raids. Something that is not possible anymore in MP for now, so that is why I am looking for a new home.
I am sure PoC can offer me the kind of fun which I am looking for. I hope I can contribute to that too in the near future. PoC seems to be just about the right size guild for me, not too hardcore and not too casual with enough planned evening raids.

Your Role
Besides buffing, decursing and sheeping, my main role will be dpsing, with the introduction of dual specs this has become a little bit more interesting. Changing specs as desired for the particular encounter. Before dual spec I used to be a frostfire lover, I never really tried Arcane in wotlk. Since 3.1 I decided to change my main spec to arcane. Back in TBC I used to be arcane too for some period of time. What I like about the spec is that you can easily boost your damage for a short period of time for a big amount of mana cost. This can be very useful on critical moments during boss encounters. The frostfire spec is a nice mana saving spec for longer lasting fights, this is my secondary spec.
I have not been able to experience much of it after 3.1, so I am still trying to max out efficiency for the arcane spec. Arcane also involves more planning ahead for what rotation to use, that differs for each encounter.
I am a mediocre keybinder, I don’t bind all my spells but have bound the most important ones. I am using my scroll wheel for my main attacks with shift as modifier. Other than that I bound Q, E, F, Z, X, 1, 2 and 3 some with modifiers for my other spells. I changed A and D to strafe and use my mouse to turn.
Besides raiding and preparing for raids, by collecting food buff food and mats for flasks etc, I like to get more fun out of the game by doing achievements and helping other players around. I like a 5man heroic now and then if there is time even if there is nothing there to get for me.
I don’t have any level 80 alts, I will probably level one of from 70 just for support. All my effort goes into my main.
Personal Information
My name is Bastiaan and I am 32 years old. I live in the Netherlands in the city called Rotterdam. For 10 years I have been working for an Architects Office, since may last year I started my own company in Architectural Engineering. My job involves making the plans for new buildings, requesting building permits and supervise when it gets built.
Recently I also bought my own house, the contractor is still building and I am hoping to move into my new home around October.
My online gaming experience all started with the good old MUDs, I played AAW (Adventures of Ancient Wisdom) for years. I have been playing wow since about one month after the release and I never quit the game. I still like it a lot and think it is the best MMO out there. While waiting for wotlk I’ve also tried Age of Conan but that game just didn’t do it for me. I hope Blizzard will continue creating great new content for WoW.
Well that pretty much wraps up everything about me and my character, If you need more information feel free to ask, I hope to hear from you soon.
Happy Queen’s Day (for the dutchies)
