Who I am

My name is Mike Christensen, 20 years old, live in Denmark in Copenhagen and have a job as animator but educated as website designer and I enjoy my work very much.
Besides World of Warcraft, I'm occasionaly play on my Wii and good ol' Mario video games from the past.
I see myself as a guy with humor (although it can be twisty sometimes), dedication, willing to do what my mind is settled for and use 100% of my capability to accomplish those goals.
I consider myself fairly open and friendly towards people which I belive is very handy, especially when it comes to meeting new people. I prefer being absolutely honest and I don't like hiding things which are important.

Warcraft History and previous guilds

It all began the day I made Shamii (In vanillia WoW). Some of you might remember me, I level'd as fast as I possibly could so I experience the "real" part of the game. From the day I hit 60 I PvP'd everyday in a premade with Darrius, Bigu, Onu, etc. Good times... Shamii eventually reached rank 11 and I decided to stop PvP because the old honor system was too time consuming for me. At the time I figured I may as well give PvE a shot as I still enjoyed the game, I applied to Odins Fury after some struggling in finding a guild that needed a Shaman, I've been priviliged to accompany Odins Fury to much of the old content.

When TBC came out and I started to lvl a Paladin named Aiim. As I did on Shamii, I level'd as fast as I could and I was (If memory serves) #7 Blood Elf Paladin who reached 70 on Runetotem. As all the raids went from 40 man to 25 man many problems occured within Odins Fury as a result from "Overpopulation" of the Raider base. At the time Sarjin, who was assistant Guild Master of Odins Fury left to form Reverence, I was one of the few individuals that decided to take the gamble and joined Sarjin and the others in Reverence. As time went by it appeared that we were short on melee dps, I came with the proposition to level my rogue called Naxmodan and the rest was as they say "history".

When I reached 70 with my rogue, I got geared up fairly quick in kara and moved to SSC with rest of Reverence where we had promising progress. I enjoyed my rogue much more then spamming "Flash of Light" constantly. As time went by Naxmodan became my main and still is and always will be. After many months the guild changed, we were mass recruiting because of raider shortage and the old Reverence lost it's face and atmosphere for me, at the time many of my friends left Reverence for a brighter future as well, before I knew it I was in an almost unfamilliar guild with few people to sociolize with. I couldn't follow my friends from there because they went all diffrent ways, some left WoW for Warhammer, others joined Guilds I never thougt I should be a part of.

I decided to make a fresh start, New friends, new experience and a new atmosphere. I applied to Riddlebox and got accepted as trial, after a month I went trough trial and became members with Fletch as my class leader who I respect very much. Fletch and some others from Riddlebox left because they prioritized PvP above PvE progress, which resulted in the rogue CL vanishing in Riddlebox.
I strongly believe having a class leader is important so that the raiders and members have a 'rolemodel' to look up to, ask class related questions and whatnot. I decided to ask if there was an opening as class leader and the officers promptly invited me as the new officer/CL within RB.

As time went by and TBC was nearing it's end before I realised Wrath of the Lich King was here, serval rogues decided to stop playing and quit the game for good, this resulted in a very stressful position for me as not only CL but also one of the few rogues (And the majority of the time, the only rogue) within raids. The reason I am applying to Protectors of Chaos is because I want to re-discover the joyful parts of raiding and not having to care for things such as having to tell people repeatedly not to stand in void zones, starting invites, explaining bosses to people countless times and so on. I'd like a guild where can be focused on my self as a class and my gameplay while im raiding,And im quite sure I can do that in Protectors of Chaos.

Raiding Experience

In vanillia WoW I cleared: ZG, MC, Onyxia and whole BWL but Nefarian.
In TBC I've cleared: Karazhan, Gruul's lair, Magtharidon, Zul'aman, The Eye, SSC, BT and 2/6 Sunwell.
In WotLK I've cleared: Naxxramas 10 and 25 man, Malygos 10 and 25 man, Sartharion +0 10 man and +2 25 man, VoA 10 and 25 man.

User Interface

Addons I use
- Need to know. This addon helps me to keep track on HfB, SnD, Rupture, Deadly Poison etc.
- Omen. Threat meter
- Deadly Boss Mod
- Move Anything! Makes me able to move everything that is in the standard Blizzard interface

I like to keep my addons to a minimum, full and clogged up interfaces can make key elements in boss-fights go unnoticed. Having everything keybound makes raiding and pvping much more enjoyable for me as I can react extremly fast without having to look at my action bars, find the ability I want to use and whatnot.

My role

Here, I'm basically going trough rogue stuff such as, theorycrafting (Shiv spec), my rotation, poison choice and the diffrence between combat and mutilate and why Im mutilate.

Shiv.

There is alot of theorycrafting going on at the moment if a shiv build should be the best considered dps spec for a rogue. A Shiv spec is based on a fast MH weapon, prior Webbed Death and OH with Hailstorm (according to Vulajins Spreadsheet those two are the best). If you've those two weapons you can run a Shiv spec with most optimal dps (assuming your gear is equal to mine). Alright so, how to spec as the so-called Shiv spec. As Shiv specced you want a spec like this - Shiv spec (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0eb0eZ0gVox0xqbuMxRtb)
Your main combo point builder is obvious Shiv and you should play Shiv spec, the same way as you'd play a combat Sinister Strike spec i.e. same rotation.
As poisons being you want instant in offhand because Shiv triggers an offhand poison 100% meaning instant poison will hit. As MH poison you want wound.
I find this interresting but as EJ has said, its quite doubtful this will remain a valid spec because Blizzards intention to Shiv isent to make it a Combo Point builder. I actually would like to try this out as Im missing combat and this is a way to spec into it, but Im missing Hailstorm. There is still going on alot of theorycrafting on the EJ forum about this being the best dps spec. But we'll see.

Mutilate.

My rotation - I start up with 3 stacks of HfB then I open with a garrote, SnD, mutilate to 4+ combo points, envenom (SnD refreshes here), mutilate to 4+ combo points, rupture, Mutilate to 4+ combo points, envenom (SnD refreshes here), and so on. I ofcourse keep an eye on HfB and make sure to refresh it. I prefer to refresh it in the last 2 secs. Mutilate specc gives me alot of energy pooling as well which I do to 100 energy and then I do my finisher. I also vanish when I can to trigger the talent 'Overkill'.
As mutilate you're basically 'poison master', in other words, your poisons becomes a bigger part of your dps, not more then white attacks ofcourse.
Poisons I use as Mutilate spec is Instant Poison in mainhand and deadly poison in offhand. Why do I specificly choose those poisons is because of many things. Instant poison has a chance to proc from finishers i.e. envenom and rupture which comes from my mainhand. Another reason for putting instant in mainhand is that my mainhand is a 1.4 speed (Webbed Death) and as said before, as mutilate specc, your poisons gives the most dps, along with white attacks so you want instant poison on mainhand cause it is simply faster and will proc more. As OH poison I choose deadly poison so I can envenom my target which will refresh my slice and dice due to the talent that gives my envenom 100% chance to refresh whenever I use either envenom or eviscerate.
I'm going with double Webbed Death at the moment because having 2 Webbed Death as mutilate spec is, according to spreadsheet, better then duel wielding Webbed Death as MH and Sinister Revenge as OH eventhough Sinister Revenge has a higher dps. Because double Webbed Death is better is because of the talent called Focused Attacks, which gives my crits a 100% chance to restore 2 energy (max talented 3/3)
So, more FA procs = more energy = more mutilate.
I choose to stack up my gear with attack power. Reasons for that being is, that attack power scales with poisons dmg, so the more attack power you've, the higher poison dmg you'll get + white dmg.
I am poison capped which is strongly has as nr. 1. on my prior list.

Combat.

Rotation as combat (I havnt tried combat at all in WotLK) I'd most likely go with a 3s/5r/5e cycle
I've spreadsheeted alot and my results is, with my current gear, that mutilate should pull ahead of combat.
However, I don't have any preferences regarding spec choice. In fact I miss combat. Sadly, combat isen't as it was in TBC.
The only thing that holds me back going combat is, that I don't have any decent fist weapons I can equip. I would duel wield Calamity's Grasp in MH with wound poison. I choose wound because of its higher chance to proc (50%) and wounds higher proc chance outweigh the dmg from instant poison that only has 30% chance to proc, untalented.
In offhand I'd choose Webbed Death. Reason for taking a dagger in OH, is because of its speed basically and ofcourse it shares talents with fist, also called Close Quarters Combat that gives your dagger and fist 5% extra crit chance. So with Calamity's Grasp as a fist, Webbed Death as a dagger, I hit the requirement for the Close Quarters Combat talent. Also, dagger in OH with a 1.4 speed as Webbed Death has, will mean Combat Potency will proc more. I would choose wound in OH as well by the way.

HaT

I will not go deep in to this build as I personally find it uninterresting and boring. I do know the deal of it. It is basically just keep SnD up and spam Eviscerate while your group is feeding you with combo points. This is still a good spec, even after the fix, but I prefer not to use it. I'd use double wound here as well with double Webbed Death, as weapon dmg doesn't make any diffrence to your finisher, Eviscerate.

What I can offer you and what you can expect of me

You can expect a full-timed focused rogue with great raid attendance. You can expect a rogue that always have his consumable prepared and gold to repair for. I can offer you a friendly, relaxed person that reads up on his class daily on EJ as well on new boss fights (thinking about Uludar here as I know every encounter that is killable). You can expect a rogue that provide the best dps I can deliver every single time, every single raid. I can offer you a helpful guy with alot of in-game experience. You can expect a rogue with great latency and a working computer.

Why Protectors of Chaos

I see joining Protectors of Chaos as another of my WoW goals which I wanna accomplish. I also wanna be a part of a strong and focused raid with an amazing bunch of great and solid raiders. I also wanna be a part of your amazing progress and do whatever I can do keep Protectors of Chaos as a top guild.

Other stuff

I'm able to use Ventrillo and / or Teamspeak and I also have a working microphone but I rarely use it as I wanna put my focus on the raid and let the raid leader, lead in peace.

That should be it. I hope you enjoyed reading it as well as I hope all your questions got answered. If not, please contact me in-game and I'll gladly answer whatever you may question.

Regards,

Naxmodan

I know that probably my words may not count , and u might find it a bit annoying cause im jumping into ur recruitment forums with this way , but would be a shame from me to not say at least something for Naxmodan. A player more valuable than a diamond for whole Riddlebox as he was , one of the most important people we had if u ask me and i 100% sure than im not the only one that believes that in RB, decent Classleader even if he had to carry on in wrath as only rogue , some1 that we gona rly miss in our green chat and feel sorry we lose .

Once again sry for jumping like this in your recruitment forums.

Good luck Naxypad.
