Playing Times
My "normal" playing times are verging on addiction :knockout: , from 19:00 (ST) to the small hours on weekdays and varies at the weekend from a few hours in the early evening to sometimes doing most of the day, but I do take the occasional day off (although I arrange these around any planned raids when possible).
Previous Guilds
Im not sure if you just want a list or my online life story, so here goes  ...
I stated playing about a year ago and was in a levelling guild called something like "Spellbound"?, that merged into another guild called "Clashing Sounds". After a few weeks at level 70 the GM, decided there would never be any raiding due to other commitments, so I eventually left and joined "WaSuP rOcKeRs!" with promises of 10 man raiding starting soon. There wasn’t enough level 70's to do Kara so I built up a lot of heroic badge gear during this time. I only ever did one attempt at Kara with the guild before experiencing a surprise Gkick for pugging ZA (This was a surprise to me, but after a few days of feeling hard done by, I realised it wasn’t the kind of guild to progress in.
So guildless and eager to progress I made up numbers in random guild runs, and pugged away the rest of my raid CD’s and eventually found similar minded people in the Nightcrew channel (where I got most of my lower raid BC experience). I later joined (as joint GM) a levelling guild called "the netherdrake bandits" (I used to boost the GM at low level in SM for fun) for a while where I was the only L70 (no one had a drake, oh the irony) so had fun boosting and messing about working on profession’s etc. That was good for a while but I wanted to do more serious raiding... so put an application into "Odins Fury" as at the time they were doing content I was geared for and had some experience of myself, plus they had a great reputation as a serious raiding guild so was happy they let me join them as a raider. So for the last few months of 2008 I was going to MH and BT with OF in the evenings, and in the early hours was raiding elsewhere with the night crew regulars. This was a great time as I was raiding all places except SWP, and although some were technically PUGs, they had a guild feel to them and were usually made up of the same experienced people in the same Vent/TS channels.
That brings me up to the present. Odin’s Fury had a major split that was building up over the last few weeks, the founder members have left and have created their own guilds leaving the newbie’s that weren’t involved in the "debate" in the guild (with no GM) and with no one to raid with. So at the present I’m still wearing the OF tag on my head (one of very few now) to prevent getting whispered by recruiters. I did like raiding with OF, but don’t really want to be joining one of their spin offs guilds.
Reasons for Applying
I’m in need of a new raiding guild for as my current guild has factioned and no longer raids as mentioned above. But I don’t want to join just any random guild. The last time I was looking at guilds and their progress I had seen that PoC were doing content ahead of other guilds, but I wasn’t geared enough and certainly didn’t have the experience that your guild would have been looking for to tackle the content you do, but since then I hoped that I would have a chance to apply in the future. I believe now Im ready, able and most certainly willing to join a team of similar minded gamers that want more than just to experience the most challenging raid bosses, but to get them down fast and have a bit of fun on the way. I always try to be the best I can in any instance, no matter what size or level, and would certainly bring this attitude along to every raid if given the chance.
I’ve not applied to any other guild, and have been turning down others trying to recruit me as I wanted to put this application in and see if your guild would be interested in giving me a chance.
Raiding Experience
I’ve been playing now for just over a year, which I know is not a lot of time in comparison to others, so my time has been spent mostly in BC content. As a L70, I’ve Cleared ZA (3 chests on the timed) TK, SSC all but Vashj, MH up to Archi, BT up to Shazra and SWP up to the first scout  At Maggy I was a constant cube clicker, and was always mage tank for Grulls lair as I always carried gear for the occation. (I have since been back to most of these BC raids at L70+ and settled some old scores, clearing SSC, MH and BT). In Woltk so far I’ve done OS and VoA 10 and 25 plenty on times. I've been many times to Naxx but not had many full runs due to most of those attempts being PUGs, so on 10 man I’ve had Kel'Thuzad down to 8% before the server went down Wednesday morning, but killed him on 25 man with Odin’s Fury. Ive also been EoE 10 man and got to phase 3, but never could get enough DOT stacks on the go before the group got wiped. I still haven't managed to find a EoE heroic raid party yet.
Your Role
As a raiding fire mage, I see my role primarily as a high DPSer that should need minimal healing, aswell as dabbling in CC when needed and of course interrupting, spell stealing (buff removing) and decursing the Raid. The past few weeks Ive been working on my raiding gear, and have now found that agro management is starting to be my main concern when playing with the average tank, so for the long haul fight, I bring out my clones (mirror images) near the start to mask my agro, go nuts for a while then pop invisibility, which gives the tank plenty of head start on the agro, meaning I can start stacking crits with no worries of ninjaing an angry boss away from the MT. My current gear is heavy on crit which compliments my frostfire type spec for higher mage dps. I always try to minimise my damage taken as much as possible with positioning, e.g, staying at 41 yard on the first boss in the arachnid quarter so I never get hit from the ground spikes. I do have a few other pieces of hit and haste gear I can change into if needed, but up to now this hasn’t been an issue. I’m fairly mana self sufficient and currently using a mana enchant on my cloak as it seems to proc a lot meaning I can take advantage of my build and pop an instant pyroblast as often as I get the chance without worrying about bringing my wand out (I mention this darkweave embroidery enchant as its seen as a bad enchant on the Imba site but for my current situation and the people I have been raiding with I believe it beneficial). Like all gear, talents, and glyphs im happy to alter these to fit the situation.
Im not at home at the moment so cant show you my UI for now, but I use the default wow interface, with 2 action bars on the right, and like to see what mana/HP gains I’m getting and damage I’m resisting too. The addons I actively use are Decursive, Grid, Recount and ofc Omen (I bring up quest helper too when needed).
Personal Information
Hello Chaos Protectors, My real name is Ross, and I’m from Scotland (near Glasgow). I’m 30 and work in IT. I discovered My first MUD while at Uni and spent way to much time on the text based game so resisted getting into anything similar for many years as I knew how addictive it can get, until I finally gave in, down loaded WOW and rolled a gnome mage on a trial account. I seen the error of my ways and went Horde after my 10 days were up; I’ve been hooked ever since. I had already built my first PC by then, so have been upgrading it over the year with 25 man raiding and FPS in mind, and now getting nice results on a hi res monitor on full settings. I have two dogs, and once let the pup take a bio on the carpet after she was whining at the door while I was on a BT boss (I think it was on a Blood Boil fight), thats devotion for you ... (or animal cruelty perhaps  , but the pup is now older and house trained). I got no kids and the Girlfriend is WoW tolerant, so luckily don’t have much interruptions during raiding. I spent a few weeks looking for the time lost proto dragon, and gave up so now currently working on the frostbitten achievement (to kill every rare elite in Northrend). I set my standards high ;)
Thanks for your time.
