Character Name: Invision
Name might be taken on Runetotem, so i may have to change it.

Race & Class: Blood Elf - Death Knight

Current Server: Emerald Dream

Armory Link: Invision (http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Emerald+Dream&n=Invision)

Playing Times:
I am available on all weekdays from, at the latest, 16:00 until around 18:00 then from 19:00 to at least midnight, and in weekends it's almost all day except if i have some work to do.

Previous Guilds:
Since this is a Death Knight i have only been in one guild with her, which is also my current guild, it is a levelling guild i joined at around level 72.
Cant think of much else to put here as raiding experience is below.

Reasons for Applying:
Due to real life reasons i had to take a break from WoW just after TBC launched, and now i am looking for a guild that i feel i will fit well into, and one that fits my playing times well. Also ever since i came back, i have missed raiding so much, as nothing else in WoW could compare to beating a boss with my guild for the first time, and actually learning the encounter by ourselves, and not by reading the tactics on wowwiki.

Raiding Experience:
As i explained above i didnt raid nor played at all after i levelled to 70 in TBC, i hope that wont be a too big of a problem as i am a very easy learner and did raid quite a bit prior to TBC.

In classic WoW i have raided ZG, MC, BWL and AQ40, also done various pugs to AQ20. I only set foot in the original Naxxramas very few times, as that was when i was too busy in real life to be online often enough to progress and gear up with fellow guild members. I did play casually on the sideling though.

In WotLK i really look forward to being able to raid with a guild i feel home and welcome in again, and i look forward to seeing which new raid dungeons Blizzard can come up with, as i also really enjoy reading about the lore of each dungeon.

Also not that it's a very big achievement, i did a few Naxx-10 pugs, made it to Heigan in an hour or so. (That encounter is quite, interesting to do when none except me read tactics beforehand and people dont know what boss mods are).

The real life stuff was mainly because i was moving into a new house with my family and exams, that won't happen again though, not for a few years at least.

My role:
Spec: clicky (http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-talents.xml?r=Emerald+Dream&n=Invision)
Well, i like to think of the Death Knight as a melee dps / Tank hybrid, currently i went down the dps route, as that is what i felt i liked most about the DK.

Generally my role in instances is to be up there with the tank and dps on the, currently focused on, mob/boss while keeping an eye out for the enemy cast bar to see if i can interrupt any spells, and also to look out for the cloth-wearers in case the tank missed an add or two, generally i can take a fair few hits more than a priest, unless its a raid boss. It's also generally better in heroics that i die than the healer at the back die.

Also i bring a fair few buffs as a blood specced DK to my raid, blood aura for example (4% healing of the damage you do, in 3.0.8) and my short duration Horn of Winter. Also i provide a buff named Abominations Might that increases AP by 10%. It is pretty much always up as it procs off my main attacks.

Currently im working on getting exalted with Wyrmrest Accord, as they have a nice dps plate piece at exalted (also that mount looks great!)
Trying to get the axe from Loken in HoL as its a fair upgrade over my current Ebon Blade rep sword. Though you need a group with a bit of brains to kill him, so i generally only run it once a week or so when certain tanks and healers are online.

Also saving up for the Titansteel Destroyer in case i can't get the drop from HoL, money is a bit sparse as i bought epic flying mount a few weeks ago. Should be able to buy it next week though as i only need around 1000g more.
My gear is almost always gemmed/enchanted and i will always bring the neccesary consumeables for raids, always have a few "Well fed" foods on me for the "harder" heroics.

I currently cant provide a SS of my UI as im writing from my laptop which uses standard WoW UI so i can get as many FPS out of it as possible. I rarely play from this one though.

Im only writing my application from it as im not home right now (nor will i be until 27. december, christmas time as you know, have to visit family)
I can try to describe it though, player, target and ToT is setup just above my AB's, and my raid frames are just below the AB's, at the bottom of the screen. That means i can easily see every health frame i need to, focus is not set up as i havent had a use for it yet, expect it to be set up correctly for bosses!
Basically its an UI oriented towards being very easy to use and see whats going on, while not looking totally messed up.

Personal Information:
My name is Alexander, i come from Denmark and i am 17 years old.
I currently go to High School and study Chemistry, Biology and Math on a high level, im on second out of third year.
WoW was my first MMO, i played Diablo 1 and 2 for years before that though. I have also played Battlefield 2 in a league named ESL for a few months.

Before beginning on WoW again i tried out Warhammer Online as i felt it looked interesting, the pvp just wasnt enough though, i needed the good old raiding or i would get bored. (actually also why im a bit late on progression in WotLK, started my DK a week after launch as my local shops had ran out of copies.

Hi, I have a few questions; you say that your gear is usually enchanted/gemmed, but your armory doesnt really reflect this... also, your +hit seems a bit low; you might want to gem a bit for that, perhaps. Unless you disagree, of course.
A question about your Talent Build: could you describe (in your own words) the reason why you spec deep into Unholy for [Summon Gargoyle], instead of going up to [Annihilation] in Frost and taking [Dancing Rune Weapon] in Blood?
And could you briefly explain your preferred rotation, and why you think that this rotation is good for you?

I realize my current gear is not enchanted/gemmed with the most expensive ones you can get, as i also explained im saving up for the Titansteel 2H mace, which i in the end believe is a bigger dps upgrade over spending gold on enchants and gems, also it is due to the lack of challenging content i have been able to do, i saw no reason to spend alot of gold on expensive gems/enchants when the only thing i was able to do was heroic 5-mans anyway.

I will of course always have my gear enchanted gemmed with the best available if i eventually get to the content where it would benefit the most.

Yes my +hit is a a bit low, (quite low actually) and i should probably replace some of the other gems for + hit rating, and replace some pieces of gear for other pieces with hit rating on.

My current build is not final, i have been playing around a lot with different builds and this have just been my build for the last week.
Anyhow i wanted to see how Gargoyle would work as a RP dump instead of spamming DC, and so far it works pretty well if i can actually hit the mob constantly, if i just for a few seconds are CC'ed or out of range or simply doesnt hit, the Gargoyle will run out of RP. So in that aspect its kinda situational, while DRW is more like a fire and forget ability.
And im pretty sure without the Icy Touch glyph (10% less damage, 10RP) it would be even harder to maintain enough RP for the gargoyle.

Also from reading various forums and on elitistjerks.com it seems that gargoyle does more dps with lesser gear, while DRW will get much better for every upgrade you get. However its something i'd prefer to test myself, got recount for that.

Although Annihilations 3% crit is quite nice, and so is the effect that makes obliterate consume no diseases, i currently use a rotation where obliterate is used as a finisher, obviously you could adapt and change your rotation to possible achieve higher dps by using obliterate more, i havent tested that yet. And is also something i would like fellow DK's to comment on.

My rotation depends on whether or not its a boss or not, for bosses which is obviously most important it usually goes like this: IT - PS - HS - HS - OB - RPD - PS - IT - HS - HS - HS - HS - OB - RPD, rinse and repeat

RPD: Rune Power dump. Either DC or Gargoyle atm. depends on whether or not i can count on generating enough RP for gargoyle
If i had chosen DRW instead of gargoyle im pretty sure i would be able to avoid using DC as a rune power dump, and only use it on Sudden Doom procs, but im gonna have to test it on some dummys first to see what actually gives the biggest dps increase.

For trash i usually use pestilence to spread the diseases, then when they are consumed on my main target by obliterate i just switch targets, do a quick pestilence which means i avoid having to spend time on applying them again. That seemed to give the highest dps on trash mobs as Heart Strike and Obliterate generally does more dps in the same amount of time with diseases up.

Hope that answers your questions as i am now off to bed.

Hi. Unfortunately we won't be able to offer you a trial with us. We feel we have enough death knights to meet our needs at the moment. Good luck in your search for a guild.
