This obviously doesn’t represent what my gear will look like at lv80. This gear was all gained while I was a part of Protectors of Chaos the first time round.
When WotLK content is released and I have a full idea of the sorts of reputation rewards, enchants and gems that are available I will work hard on getting each and every one I may need to be the most effective healer I can be.

Play times:
Currently I hold down a full time job, but thankfully it is just a 10 minute drive from my house so I am usually at my computer by 5:20 (British time). I usually have dinner at around 5:30 so I can be active from around 6pm until approximately 1am. I have no problems with being online for as long as it takes to get a boss down or to complete an objective. My play time is a bit different on a Monday where I teach swimming at a Swim School and as a result I won’t be online till 8pm. As I understand raids will probably start before 8pm I will make sure I am online ready to step in if someone needs to leave for some reason.
I plan to start an Open University course in February that will use around 8 hours of my time a week. This however will not affect my ability to raid, as I will most likely spend Saturday and Sunday mornings working on it.

Previous Guilds:
I can’t remember any guilds I may have joined prior to The Protectors of Chaos; however I do know that I joined soon after starting to play wow. At the time it was due to being friends with Karquo, I had no idea the guild would become what it is now back then.
In my time with PoC I took part in the old days of wiping in MC. I remember being there for the guild first kills of bosses like Hakkar (probably my favourite encounter pre-TBC). I was in PoC all the way through The Burning Crusade until August when my inactivity got to a point where it was only fair I was removed from the guild, a decision I fully accept was no one’s fault but my own. I don’t think that TBC came at a particularly good time for me in my life, just as I was getting close to lv70 and thinking of starting to rejoin the raiding scene I had to start focusing on revising for my A-level exams and soon after that I had a 3 week holiday to Borneo and Thailand, which set me a long way behind the rest of the guild and I feel I didn’t take the opportunities I had to recover from the setbacks.
After being removed from PoC I seem to remember signing a guild petition for someone and then leaving that guild as soon as it was formed, it was not a serious move or anything of that nature.
Since the day I was removed I have been hoping I would once again get an opportunity to prove to the people I used to call my brothers and sisters that I can be a serious raider just like the rest of you.

Raid Experience:
I have raided all through ZG and MC and most of BWL and AQ20 in pre-TBC content. In TBC I have raided most of Kara and Gruul. I know this looks bleak but it in no way reflects what my drive will be for WotLK as I aim to complete every single boss in every raid encounter.

My Role, spec and reasons why:
Well I have a wealth of experience healing and I feel this is a role I am more suited for. However most of my experience comes from pre-TBC content and PvP healing in TBC.
The specs I have been looking at with the talent trees as they are, I feel I would like to spec Discipline with some points in the Holy tree, this spec looks like it will give the best ability to heal the raid members, excluding the tanks. The spec I’m looking at is very shield based (3/3 points in “Improved Power Word: Shield”, 2/2 points in “Renewed Hope” and 5/5 points in “Borrowed time”).
I can see this spec working well when a large number of people in the raid are being affected by AoE attacks, and rescuing anyone who has gone low on health.
This spec also gives me the extra buffs of “Divine Spirit”, “Power Infusion” and “Pain Suppression”, and 2/2 points in “Improved Divine Spirit”. With Spirit taking what looks like a larger role as far as affecting spells I feel this buff will become invaluable to all casters. Power Infusion looks like it will help casters put out that extra bit more damage (or healing depending on the target) that could make all the difference in taking a boss down and finally Pain Suppression looks like it will work well for anyone who is taking a lot of damage, it could even be used on the Tanks once the fight is established, as I’m sure they will be more than 5% ahead of anyone else on the threat table.
Additional benefits that this spec offers are talents like “Grace”, this reduces damage taken by 1/2/3% and increasing healing received from priests by 2/4/6%. I can see this being useful on tanks, as it lowers the overall work the healers need to do in order to keep the tanks alive. “Rapture” is also a very nice use of talent points in theory, the more mana I am able to regenerate while casting the longer I can keep healing for and supporting the raid, this works well with “Mental Strength” (Increases total Intellect by 3/6/9/12/15%) and “Enlightenment” (total Stamina, Spirit and Spell Haste by 1/2/3/4/5%)
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=bVhbuhhtrxoicRtbxtc This is the spec I have been describing (this is of course based on lv80 talent points).

I feel that as an active raider you need to be open to change and I will of course read up as much as I can on what other players have said about similar specs and I would listen to the comments of the guild members and try to amend my spec if it looks like it would improve my abilities as a healer. Also I accept that this spec may be out of date when I get to lv80 and I will of course change it if that happens.

To condense this down; My role would be to provide healing and support to the whole raid, while topping the raid up on buffs and increasing the output or reducing damage taken of/by others through the use of additional short-term buffs. I don’t expect to be on top of the healing done meters or to just spam one spell to achieve results, when you have a spell book of spells you should use them all when they are needed.
Obviously when WotLK comes out I will re-evaluate my ideal spec. It may turn out that this spec is no use with the content or it might be that every priest has speced this way and I am needed to do something different.

About me:
My name is Stuart; I’m 19, currently living about 26 miles from London in a town called Watford. I have been with my girlfriend now for over 2 years, she is currently in Leeds studying at university and as a result I am taking 1 weekend each month she’s there to go and see her, but this hopefully wouldn’t interfere with raiding.
I work for an environmental sciences company based in Watford and Poland analysing soil and water samples from building sites from around the UK. My job sometimes brings some stress as I am considered to be one of the top people in the department, despite being there for just over 1 year.
Having a full time job has really given me a lot of confidence and faith in my own abilities and it has taught me the importance of holding up my hands and accepting the consequences if I do something wrong. It has also taught me the value of putting forward my ideas, no matter how simple they might be, they often have a positive effect.
I enjoy going out with friends to the pub (not a big one for clubbing if I’m honest) and I also enjoy going to music festivals, only been to Download and Leeds so far but I plan to go to Download again as it was a really amazing weekend.
I also enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them, I find I can get on well with most people even if it appears I have nothing in common with them.

Thanks you for taking the time to read this application and I look forward to your replies and comments. Hopefully I will once again be able to call this great guild my home.

This thread (http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t35208-priest_healing_compendium_v3_0_progress/) is going to be the place to start for spec info et al in WotLK.

Hi again. Sorry to say we won't be able to offer you a spot with us at present. We've just recruited a holy priest, and we're pretty confident we have the numbers we need now. I don't know if this will still be the case at 80, so maybe check back then if you are still interested.

Ok, cant say im thrilled but i understand the position the guild is in. I will try re-applying when i get to Level 80 and i hope i will have more success then.

Thank you for taking the time to read my application, and thank you Maleficias for the feed back you have given. If i am ever in the position where i can return the favour please just let me know.

During WotLK i would like everyone to feel they can ask for me to fill in during any group quests or instances. I hope to see you all as my guild mates when i reach Level 80.
