Well, we cleared Sunwell tonight.

In order to understand the significance of this, it's probably best to have a good knowledge of the lore behind it all. Unfortunately I haven't got a clue, so here's my best guess:

On a little inconspicuous island in the far north of the right hand continent (forget it's name) there is a crappy village where the blood elves are at war with demons and zombies. The headquarters of the zombie-demons is called Sunwell Plateau, and just to confuse things, it is guarded by other blood elves, who I guess are evil.

The Plateau itself is sort of a country club, with nice gardens and benches - not exactly the sort of place where demons normally hang out. The first encounter is of course, Kalecgos - who is having some sort of metaphorical struggle against his inner demon. After Kalecgos you get to meet Brutallus who is a pretty kick-arse demon as far as demons go. He has already beaten one of Kalecgos' friends (Felmyst) and turned her into a zombie dragon with his undead magics.

Then there are the twins - who seem to be Drainie and are probably just there because they have the right sort of attitude (evil) - before you meet the dark secret of SWP: M'uru who is one of the glowy sparkly things like in the middle of Shatt, except evil. God only knows what is going on here, but best to kill it just incase.

In the heart of the plateau, which is not really a plateau as far as I understand the word, you meet Kil'jaeden who is having issues getting out of the basement. Or he's being summoned via this Sunwell - probably the latter. I like to imagine that on the other end of the portal there are a bunch of guys trying to push him through, thinking 'wtf he's stuck...' 'wtf he's dead!'

Kil'jaeden is trying to drain the girl (not sure who she is but she sounds about 12 and overacts), and who he has trapped in a bubble. I am assured that this isn't as perverted as it sounds - but it is still the sort of evil **** that someone has to stop before it gets out of hand.

When you kill KJ, Kalecgos (who could have got stuck in a bit more during the fight) and some other guy have a nice chat which may or may not explain wtf is going on - I didn't really read this.

It's a cool fight, even nerfed, though as it is way shorter due to higher dps a lot of the difficulty is removed - I think we did it in 3 or 4 Darknesses and he didn't have time to cast meteors in the final phase. In typical PoC style we very nearly fucked it up completely in the last 10%, with half the raid dieing, and the Sinister Reflections of Dade (resto druid) running around ganking everyone. Think we got the kill with 3 people alive, who promptly got slaughtered by angry trees. There should be a video soon.

In recognition of our glorious victory, the WAR tabard - which was introduced when we were grinding away at Black Temple - has been changed to a new VICTORY tabard, for gentler times... or perhaps until the next time we need the war tabard again.
